    NYSEG reminds residents to Call 811 before you dig. 

    If you’re planning an outdoor project that involves digging, please be sure to call 811 to have all underground utilities marked. The marking service is free, and requesting it is only a phone call way. You can also enter a request for this free service online.

    Contact Dig Safely New York by calling 811 or entering a ticket online at least two (but not more than 10) working days before you start your digging project.

    Remember, it’s free, it’s easy, and it’s the law!

    Premises Identification:
    (per New York State Fire Code – Section 505.1)

    Address / House numbers New and existing buildings shall have approved address numbers, building numbers, or approved building identification placed in a position to be plainly legible and visible from the street or road fronting the property. These numbers shall contrast with their background. Address numbers shall be Arabic numerals or alphabet letters. Numbers shall be a minimum of 4 inches (102 mm) high with a minimum stroke width of 0.5 inch (12.7 mm).
